[the timestamp on the feed is 12:30 AM and ranka, sitting on her bed with her knees to her chest, is still in her street clothes.  seems like she got home from a busy day not too long ago.  she stares the phone lying in front of her intently as if waiting for something.

ten minutes go by with no change.

whatever she's waiting for isn't going to happen tonight.  ranka heaves a deep sigh and sings quietly:]

[she hums a piece of the melody]

[a pause.  she scrambles for her phone; the meager light illuminates her excited face.  she says the next words slowly since she's typing them at the same time.]

[OH YES IT WILL] Maybe other guys are, but not Alto-kun. He's always there for me and he's always protecting me...he's one of my best friends. Ever since the movie, I've been so busy that I haven't been to school and seen him or talked to him. I just want to know if he's okay.

[the realization numbs her to the bone. her dreams--she's dreaming about destroying her whole world. this burden was vanille's. why? ranka holds vanille tight and doesn't push her to say anything. if she wants to say more, she will.]
